Visit the Chapel of the Maternal Heart of Mary
The Chapel of the Maternal Heart of Mary offers a peaceful and inviting environment that is conducive to quiet prayer, reflection and meditation. The crucifix in our chapel is symbolic of our Little Company of Mary Sisters and marks the beginning of the Sisters' journey. The name, The Sisters of the Little Company of Mary, was chosen by our Foundress, Venerable Mary Potter in order to symbolize the compassionate care of the sick, suffering and dying. Mary Potter envisioned Jesus suffering and dying on the cross, while his Mother Mary, Mary Magdalene and St. John tenderly cared for him at the foot of his cross. This same loving care that was given to Jesus would be given to all within the sister's reach. In keeping with the Sister's vision, we offer numerous services to enhance one's spirituality and to remember those who have suffered before us and those who are sick and suffering now.
Mass is televised at 3:30 p.m. via the Hospital Chapel, Monday through Friday and can be viewed by our patients, with a 4 p.m. vigil Mass being offered for Holy Days of Obligation. During our most holiest of seasons, Lenten services begin with a Communion Service and Blessing of the Ashes and culminate with Stations of the Cross, Mass of the Last Supper and the Veneration of the Cross. A 10 p.m. Christmas Eve Mass is celebrated and also made available for viewing by our patients. In keeping with the Sister's ministry of the healing power of prayer, each day begins in prayer, keeping our patients close to our hearts and ends each night praying to keep them free from pain and suffering. Special Masses are offered throughout the year, remembering our deceased employees, physicians, volunteers and patients.
Please come and visit our chapel with open hearts and minds and be prepared to share with us, the tranquility of our sacred space.
