Comprehensive Outpatient Diabetes Services
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, diabetes is the seventh leading cause of death in the United States and is on the rise. It is a contributing factor in cardiovascular mortality and renal failure. And, in a recent survey of Little Company patients with diabetes, 79 percent reported never having experience with a diabetes center.
In response to this growing health concern, a team established our new diabetes center that provides comprehensive outpatient diabetes services to the community.
Our diabetes center provides comprehensive outpatient diabetes services to the community. The Diabetes Center certified by the American Diabetes Association provides comprehensive outpatient diabetes services to the community. Patients with diabetes may receive services from two board certified endocrinologists; a registered nurse; and a registered dietitian with certification in diabetes education (CDE). The Center offers treatment, nutrition and medication education, support and glucose monitoring for patients and support services for family members.
