Just like the ripple created by stones thrown into a pond, Little Company of Mary's Home Based Services reaches out into the community to impact the lives of their clients.
Home Care has always been part of the Little Company of Mary Sisters' mission. Inspired by Mary, the mother of Jesus, the religious order was founded by Mary Potter in 1877 in Nottingham, England, and has been dedicated to the care of the sick and dying. In 1893, their mission took them across the Atlantic to begin their American Ministry in Chicago. Until the construction of their hospital in Evergreen Park in 1930, all of the Sisters' patients received health care in the comfort of their own homes surrounded by their loved ones. Today, Little Company of Mary's Home Based Services is proud to continue this legacy of care in the home.
By offering a comprehensive program of services provided by a team of specially trained medical and healthcare professionals, Little Company's Home Based Services can meet a wide diversity of patient needs for a single visit or prolonged periods of care.
Nurses are available to provide skilled care and treatments including IV therapy, dressing changes, catheter care, medication, tube feedings and health education. Therapists provide rehabilitative services including physical, speech and occupational therapy.
Also available are certified nurses aides who can perform personal hygiene care and light household tasks.
