Patients of the Pain Management Center benefit from the expertise of six Little Company anesthesiologists who offer the latest treatments for the management of painful conditions, such as low back pain and sciatica.
Patients are evaluated on the One Day Surgery Unit.
Nerve block treatment is provided when needed, in the Outpatient Surgery Procedure Room.
In addition to office visits, X-rays, CT scans and MRIs may be prescribed as part of the diagnosis process. Follow-up treatment may include nerve block treatment, and the intervention of other physicians, including surgeons and rheumatologists.
While many patients are referred by their personal physicians, referrals are not required. However, a referral may help secure insurance reimbursement.
The Center also offers treatment to cancer patients. Treatment of chronic pain benefits the patient by allowing better pain relief with less medication.
"Pain management is a rapidly expanding field of medicine," remarked Center Director David Roth, M.D. "As new medicines are found, we learn different patients respond to different therapies."
The Pain Management Center is located at the Hospital, 2800 West 95th Street, Evergreen Park. Appointments are available M, W, Th and Fri from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. and Tues from 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. The Center also is open alternating Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. For appointments, call 708.229.5927 Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
