Ozinga Nursing Tuition Award Deadline is November 15

EVERGREEN PARK, Ill. � December 28 � Area junior and senior nursing students are invited to apply for a new nursing tuition award at Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers.
The Martin J. Ozinga, Jr., Nursing Tuition Award at Little Company, instituted in 2003, will provide tuition reimbursement to a junior or senior nursing student enrolled in an accredited nursing program, including diploma, associate, or baccalaureate program. This tuition award is made possible by the First Evergreen Foundation�s gift to the Mary Potter Endowment Fund of the Little Company of Mary Hospital Foundation.
Nurses at Little Company have earned great respect for their abilities as compassionate health care practitioners. They have been ranked among the highest quality nurses in the south and southwest areas of Chicagoland, according to consumer research. This tuition award will help Little Company to continue to attract top quality nurses to continue highly rated nursing care to Little Company�s patients.
This is a great opportunity for nursing students and it helps our Hospital recruit the best nurses,� says Jane Sullivan, R.N., M.S.N., Vice President of Patient Care Services.
Applicants must be in good academic standing and maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.5. Potential candidates also must demonstrate nursing competence and leadership skills in professional or community service and be within four semesters of graduation. The monetary award, covers one-year tuition and is paid directly to the school in the name of the student.
The amount awarded is variable depending on the college or university that the student is attending. Potential candidates may be nominated by their school or apply on their own for the tuition award.
