February 2009
We want to thank you for your continued support and inform you of our
continuing efforts to modernize and transform our hospital campus. The Sisters
of Little Company of Mary and the Hospital Board recognize very clearly the
current economy and the continued decline in the financial markets.
Nevertheless, we remain committed to transforming the Little Company of Mary
campus to meet the increasing demands for modern-up-to-date health care
facilities in our community.
Due to the country's current economic situation, the
Hospital Board recently reviewed alternate timelines and schedules to begin
construction of the replacement hospital tower known as the West Pavilion.
Little Company of Mary Hospital will present our case for the Campus
Transformation Project to the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board in the
Spring of 2009. When the plan is approved, we will assess the best time to begin
construction. We are postponing the ground breaking on the West Pavilion until
market conditions are more favorable to ensure a successful and timely
completion of the project. We will continue with our plans for the parking
expansion of the West Lot that is scheduled for completion early this summer,
adding more than 200 new spaces.
Little Company of Mary relies on the generous support and
commitment of our community and its leaders. Our mission to improve the health
care for families remains a privilege. We have served this community with
exceptional health care for nearly 80 years and look forward to our future with
you.
Thank you for your continuing support.
