Transformation

Please revisit this site periodically for updates about its historic construction initiatives.

Welcome to Little Company of Mary's Campus Transformation home page.  The Campus Transformation Project includes many new locations for services currently in its two oldest buildings - the Tower Building and North Pavilion:

96 New Medical/Surgical beds with private rooms and private baths

Women's Center for Life and Health

One-Day Surgery pre- and post-operative care

- Outpatient Behavioral Health

Pediatrics

Kitchen/Servery/Dining

Very preliminary photos from the Project architect show the the new facility, called the West Pavilion at this time, to be directly adjacent to the west side of the existing Tower Building on the Francisco side of LCM's Evergreen Park campus at 95th and California.

In addition to these services, the Project will address replacement and additional parking on the west side of the campus.   Very preliminary plans call for the North Pavilion to be used primarily for outpatient services and the Tower Building to be replaced by green open area and a new entrance to Women's Center The Project is estimated to cost nearly $180 Million. Little Company of Mary plans to fund the Project through the assistance of the community through a capital campaign, as well as internal resources.

In mid-2006, Little Company of Mary completed a three-year strategic plan and a campus-wide facility plan. The plans identified the opportunity to better serve women in the Southwest area through a women's center, in addition to several other initiatives.

To address this need, LCM formed a Women's Health Advisory Council.  LCM also gathered more than one dozen physicians who assist women with their health care such as a breast surgeon, OB/GYNs, a psychiatrist, an oncologist, a cardiologist and several others, to incorporate their feedback into the women's center development. Simultaneously, hospital engineers, architects and facility experts were reviewing and evaluating the best available options for a new women's center.

During this research phase, LCM critically thought about its overall facility needs and the best time horizon to address those needs.  After much analysis, discernment from the Sisters of the Little Company of Mary and guidance from community members who voluntarily serve on many LCM committees and boards, a decision was made to adjust the timeline to address all of the facility needs in a long-term Campus Transformation plan.

"God is calling us to move forward at this time to make this strong investment in our community.'    - Sister Kathleen McIntyre, L.C.M., Chairperson of the Board
