Little Company of Mary to Honor Great Works Near and Far
LCM Foundation Hosts 18th Annual Fundraiser at The Field Museum

EVERGREEN PARK, Ill. - December 20, 2007-Little Company of Mary Hospital Foundation's 18th Annual Crystal Heart Ball will take place on Saturday, February 2, 2008, at The Field Museum.
David Roth, M.D. and Mary Rose Roth will chair this year's gala along with their Co-Chairs, Martin and Kathleen McLaughlin. The event is not only the hospital's premier fundraiser, but also an opportunity to recognize three individuals for their outstanding accomplishments and service.
The Foundation will present the Mary Potter Humanitarian Award to Sandra Burkhardt, Ph.D., ABPP, for her tireless effort to create Project Respect, a community-based outreach program for children with autism spectrum disorders and their families, based at St. Xavier University. The Mary Potter Humanitarian Award honors an individual whose personal and professional accomplishments embody the ideals, vision and mission of Venerable Mary Potter. The award is a testament to compassion, commitment and the gift of empowerment.
The Sister Nancy Boyle Award for Excellence will be presented to William Walsh M.D., and Kathleen Walsh, R.N., for their dedication in completing a three-year assignment in a Ugandan hospital with the Mission Doctors Association. Kathleen is a registered nurse and Dr. Walsh is a surgeon who has been associated with Little Company of Mary since 1984. Their efforts served the hospital's needs and greatly improved communication and protocols to create a positive difference in health care delivery to the natives of Uganda. The Sister Nancy Boyle Award for Excellence is a tribute to an individual or program that embodies the legacy and life of Sister Nancy Boyle L.C.M., so that her spirit will live on and continue to inspire others.
The Crystal Heart Ball guests will enjoy a cocktail reception beginning at 6:30 p.m., followed by a gourmet meal prepared by Aristic Events of Carlyn Berghoff Catering, Inc. Berghoff is the granddaughter of the famed Berghoff family.

After dinner, guests will dance to the elegant music of The City Lights Orchestra and will have exclusive access to the exhibit of George Washington Carver, scientist, educator and humanitarian.
The Crystal Heart Ball table tickets are $300 per person and proceeds will benefit Little Company of Mary's mission and ministry. A grand raffle will be held and a prize of $10,000 will be awarded. Guests have an opportunity to purchase seats at a diamond table for $750 per person or a Heart of Gold Table $500 per person which offer special amenities.
