Requires a graduate from an accredited school of Pharmacy and continuing education resulting in a Pharm.D. Degree; current licensure by the State of Illinois Board of Pharmacy. Requires Residency or 3 years of progressively more responsible and varied work experience as a Clinical Pharmacist. Excellent communication skills are needed. Computer skills necessary. This position is responsible for clinical programs and protocols from the Pharmacy Department, sets the agenda for the P & T Committee, represents the pharmacy on various hospital committees, presents to both the healthcare practitioners and to the community, writes and edits the Pharmacy Newsletter, educates pharmacists and nurses on clinical inititatives; establishes standards for pharmacist competencies, must be able to critically evaluate literature for clinical protocols and formulary reviews, designs and implements drug use evaluations for performance improvement. |
