Conducts educational needs assessments for the Behavioral Health areas. Plans, implements and evaluates all education programs for patient caregivers and other professional staff. Assists in the formulation and evaluation of policies and procedures for assigned specialty areas of nursing. Coordinates, schedules and conducts seminars, lectures, and workshops designed to assist patient care givers and healthcare professionals maintain competencies. Participates on assigned committees associated with Patient Care Services. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Education: Requires a level of knowledge normally acquired through the successful completion of an Associates degree in Nursing or allied health field, with a current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Illinois. RN licensure, Bachelor's or Master's Degree preferred in Nursing or related field. Current CPR certification required. Experience: Requires 3 to 5 years of progressively more responsible nursing experience with Behavioral Health patients, including medical detoxification. Displays an in-depth understanding of The Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Code, and the adult education learning process. |
